I enjoyed reading the five educational blogs. Each one was thought provoking. The Cool Cat Teacher Blog post named Spies Like Us was thought provoking. Fortunately, I have not had to deal with a student taking audio or visual of any of my classes (that I am aware of). After reading this blog post, I will definitely be more aware of all the gadgets that kids have now a days and what they are using them for. It’s too bad that we need to be so protective of what we do each day and not be so care free like we used to be able to do. It must be tough for this generation of kids to be spontaneous and take risks in front of their friends. They must always think to themselves is someone video taping me? I better not try that. SAD! The second blog I read was The Ripe Environment, this blog also opened my mind on how pwerful web 2.0 can be for our students. I have been known to present an ugly PowerPoint in my day. So, the third blog that I read was PowerPoint Reform: a first chapter because I was hoping to improve my presentations. I will try to use original pictures instead of clipart for now on! My 4th blog was Rationale for educational blogging, why not read an article from my alma mater GA STATE! This blog definitely helped me understand the importance of blogging in educational dialogue. Good stuff! My last blog that I reviewed was Patrick’s Update. This blog made me think about how I as a teacher can motivate and encourage students while they are not physically in my class. I can give a child a personal comment within their blog.
Blogging seems to be a great way to communicate in or outside the classroom. I am definitely intrigued by it’s possibilities!
